The Sea Change Odyssey
Bringing together 17 years of work using sea and sailing metaphors for teams and leaders; and 7 years of research and development for use with children, parents and families; Sea Change and Turning Tides is offered as a creative journey through these times; where we are all making transitions and changes on this threshold of a new time on earth; where we get to choose now, where we are heading and make choices, decisions, preparations and plans for us to go in the direction, to a future that is right for us and those in our care.
So much change is being catalysed; this time calls us all to change, individually and collectively, for us each to be on our own course; to navigate the waves of change being brought about globally and the local change catalysed by people who care deeply for the rights to choose and create a local future; all of the changes in economics, technology, environment, politics, societies and education; paradigms and patterns of thinking coming into view; opening up new perspecitves and possibiltiies; and this as a time of profound and monumental change in the wider cycles of time of the earth and cosmos.
It's rather a lot isn't it.
Navigating through this time and these changes will determine the course of our lives, and the future of our children and all children to come; as elders we are 'holding ship' in our communities; working to create a safe passage through these times in particular, where it has been, and could become more choppy; and we will need to be anchors, lighthouses and beacons, safe harbours and havens for those around us.
Turning tides
for children and little ones
Assistance for parents in nagivating these times and caring for the wellbeing and futures of your children; using metaphor to connect with your true realities, needs and surface signals, signs and knowings of what beckons for you and your children for safe passage through these tiimes and for making your way to a brighter future.
A creative journey for you to go on with your children; including them in this time of huge change; giving them the bigger picture of this phenomenal time on earth; and talking safely about things happening in the world, 'content free' - through metaphor; connecting with nature as our guide, benefitting from the ocean of wisdom of the waters of the earth; the therapeutic and supportive use of games, stories and creative activities indoor and outdoor; that are educational, therapeutic and encouraging of teamwork and care for our local eco-systems.

A creative facilitaton toolkit for you to use in your leadership, eldership, teams and communities to make your way through these times and navigate your journey; this can be used for individual or group inqwiry and action; and for communications, participatory processes and events; with a universal language of the seas, waters and oceans of the earth; pictures and stories for communication and co-creation of change; accesssing the depths of what is true for each of us, through our natural language of nature metaphors; and safely, without needing to disclose 'content', privacy can remain; whilst being able to disclose, share and exchange with others; tools for teamwotk and collaboraiton - as we know that this is a time for us to rally together and support each other through these times of turning tides, waves of change and co-create a sea change.

Using the toolkits and resources of both Turning Tides and Sea Change for Making Waves in your community; mentorship and eldership journeys offered for you to confidently use sea and sailing metaphors, and visual dialogue and communication for building bridges between worlds, presencing and communicating realities and conveying important messages, opening up channels of communication even in contexts with dissonance, denial or trauma; and catalysing and supporting effective teamwork; a universal language beyond the increasing limits of censorship.
Currently, sessions are being offered with parents and professionals in service of the wellbeing of the children in your care; and in the teams that you are part of in your enterprise, business or community; these can be booked via the message form below.

Parentship

Wokring with parents and grandparents to support your children through these times; co-creating a journey for your young ones to assit with their emotional wellbeing, sensemaking of what is happening in the worlds around them; moving through lots of change and being a valued member of the family team to co-navigate through these times; in the knowing that children are wisdom-keepers to be heard as well as those needing our care.

Havens are therapeutic play spaces for children, in the community; offering evolutionary clean technology for re-presencing the original, coherence and harmony with nature; beyond the imprints, and distortions that society can bring in.
From my own experience, and hearing profound stories of children with 'learning and neurodiversity difficulties; and with all the challenges being faced by children today, this is a beckoning to start with one, and find a way to have them in many places.

A series of children's books and story kits are on their way; presencing the wisdom of the waters of the earth and our sea-faring family; with supportive and encouraging messages for communication, care, true safety, intuition and their natural way being so important to stay on course in life.
The kits and cards give the opportunity to stories to be surfaced amd shared; providing powerful and essential insights into the depths of experience and living realities of your children. You can also co-create stories together to empower and encourage them through difficult times; and presence their power and capacity to create realities.
Havens
Restorative and therapeutic play spaces
Havens are therapeutic play spaces for children, in the community; in the 'turning tides' theme for individual and group sessions for emotional wellbeing and odysseys of learning for inner and practical preparedness; and for whole-wellbeing with a sensory space with evolutionary clean, analgue technology for re-presencing the original, coherence and harmony with nature;

A visual communication and collaboration kit for assisting people in working through scenarios, presencing realities, building bridges between worlds and moving with what needs to happen as a collective movement towards calmer, safer waters; or to dry land; metaphorically and potentially practically speaking.
The Sea Change System is a visual communication and collaboration toolkit for assiting adults and young people through these times; and has been developed over 17 years of working with sea, water and sailing metpahors to assist individuals and leaders through times of immense change and transition, charting their course, tending to capacitiy, energy and resources for change, helping to work better together as a team and catalysing individual leadership as a source of power and energy for the journey.
As is standard for sea-farers, it's wise and essential to consider scenarios and possibilties to be prepared for a voyage; and the sea change system presences the many scenarios that we face collectively in the world, and invites your inquiry, exploration and inspired action as a natural movement towards being better prepared and resourced for these times of turning tides and waves of change.
The disaster preparedness aspect of this kit, offers the opportunity to explore possibilities and scenarios that are already widely presenced in the collective field, of a tidal wave and floods of greater proportions, that do beckon for preparedness.
So far with adults, the wisdom of sea metaphors has assisted:
- An executive Board and Leadership Team of a global FTSE company in crisis with employee engagement - a mutiny - in effect - weaving meaning making, sense-making, surfacing of experiences, insights and perspectives in a safe way (metaphor is known to be safe as a it content-free) and opening up the communication and 'field' of information to show what the next steps needed to be
- Presenting situations that need to be discussed at Board Level during an acquisition and merger planning
- presenting a journey for a Business Transformation Director and Board to lead their 6000 employee organisation through post acquisition and pre-merger; tending to division, exhaustion, capacity for change and energy of the organisation
- the recovery and reorientation of a Communications Team of a global charity after a devastating cost cutting programme that left them traumatised and under-resourced
- preparing for the possibilities of localised heavy flooding

Helping hands to push the boat out
Funding and resources are needed to go this last leg of the journey to launching the kits in printed format, the books and events; it has reached this point through savings, a business loan and donations from supportive friends and colleagues. .
A team is now needed to engage children, families and community members locally, assist with creative facilitation and be part of the central work involved in co-ordinating multiple mentorship and community engagement journeys simulatenously.
